Chudleigh House School Boys’ Scouts

At Chudleigh House School, the Boys’ Scout Club plays a vital role in nurturing well-rounded, confident and responsible learners. Grounded in the core principles of Scouting, the programme complements academic learning by focusing on character development, leadership and service.

The key principles of Boys’ Scouts duty to self, duty to others, and duty to God, alongside values such as honesty, respect, responsibility, perseverance and teamwork form the foundation of the Club. These principles guide learners in developing strong moral character, self-discipline and a sense of purpose. By living these values in practical ways, learners learn to make positive choices, act with integrity and respect themselves and those around them.

Chudleigh House School offers Boys’ Scouts to help learners build essential life skills including leadership, collaboration, problem-solving and resilience. Through outdoor activities, skill-based challenges and service projects, learners are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, take initiative and work effectively as part of a team. These experiences foster independence, confidence and adaptability.

The Boys’ Scout programme adds significant value to the learning experience by promoting experiential learning and active citizenship. Learners apply practical skills such as communication, first aid, navigation and environmental awareness, while developing a strong sense of responsibility towards their school, community and environment. Through Boys’ Scouts at Chudleigh House School, learners grow into respectful, capable and principled individuals who are well prepared for academic success and for making meaningful contributions to society.
